Unemployment Insurance: If you have lost work due to the Coronavirus you may be eligible for benefits. If your child’s school is closed, and you have to miss work to be there for them, you may also be eligible for Unemployment Insurance benefits. You do not need to wait until you have been out of work for a week to apply.

CalWORKs is a program that can give cash aid and other services to eligible California families in need. If a family has little or no cash and needs housing, food, utilities, clothing or medical care, they may be eligible to receive immediate short-term help. The Redwood Empire Food Bank is open and ready to support you and your family’s nutritional needs. All distributions at Burbank Housing communities are planned to continue as are other distributions throughout the county. Free Lunches for Kids: With schools closed, many children are losing access to free or low-cost meals. In Santa Rosa, the following sites will provide, for all children under the age of 18, a drive-thru/carry-out lunch service from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, March 23:

Older adults are considered at a higher risk for serious illness from the Coronavirus. For more resources specific to the needs of older adults, please contact the Sonoma County Area Agency on Aging at (707) 565-INFO.
